My working career spans over twenty years, almost exclusively in software. I’ve been a freelancer, employee, manager and twice a company founder — and the through-line is architecture: deciding what to build, what to retire, and what the real problem actually is.

  • design of system-to-system integrations connecting the group’s subsidiaries and external partners — Service Bus, APIM, Logic Apps Standard, Function Apps, Bicep, with Application Insights and Log Analytics for investigation
  • the group operates across several European jurisdictions, so legal requirements diverge by country and land directly in the design
  • weighted toward analysis and architecture decisions rather than implementation: interface and boundary design, migration from Consumption to Standard tier, risk, security and resilience review across the portfolio
  • these integrations are long-lived — several run for months and then stay in service, which shifts the work toward the decisions that are expensive to reverse

  • architecture work across the Group’s full cloud footprint — AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Chinese cloud providers and on-premise — spanning several architectural layers and most of the mainstream technology stack
  • the real architectural problem was combinatorial: software versions × hardware configurations × markets × marketing configurations, all of which had to resolve into one working service for one specific car
  • markets diverged legally as well as technically, so where a boundary was drawn decided what could ship where
  • conducted technical interviews for .NET roles

Senior .NET Developer — Core Banking

Owned the performance and reporting architecture of a core banking system handling loan products across most of the EU and the Baltics — hands-on, in a team of five — and sat on the company’s architecture board.

  • took 30 reports, several on-demand and some running two to three hours, down to minutes over two months of profiling, SQL optimization and caching; then argued for moving reporting out to a dedicated BI solution rather than leaving the fix inside the core system
  • on the architecture board, contributed to decisions that reached beyond my own project
  • designed a financial-knowledge test used as a hiring filter and reshaped the interview process around it
  • introduced documentation to a codebase that had grown for years without any, and ran onboarding on interest, APR and the calculations the domain runs on
  • organized the company’s internal .NET community

  • ran an apprenticeship pipeline with students from the local technical secondary school
  • wound the company down by choice in 2019 and sold the assets on
